Newsletter

When you request the DistroCool Brief email, your email address is sent to Brevo to send a confirmation email. Brevo adds you to the newsletter list after you confirm. You may receive one email a week, on Thursday when a verified edition is ready. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. Brevo manages the subscriber list, delivery, suppression and campaign statistics. We use delivery and engagement reports to maintain the newsletter; email software and privacy features can affect their accuracy. See Brevo’s privacy information.

Subscription records remain in Brevo while you are subscribed. Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery; suppression records may remain to prevent unwanted resubscription. Contact us to request deletion. Earlier launch-list requests remain in the site database until removed using their original removal link or by contacting us. They are not automatically imported into Brevo.

Signup protection

The site keeps short-lived keyed hashes of the email and network address to limit repeat requests and abuse. These protection records are removed after two days when a new signup request arrives. They are separate from audience analytics. Raw email and network addresses are not stored in this protection table. Selected interests are validated by the form but are not currently sent to Brevo or retained for new signups.

Suggestions and sponsor inquiries

We store the email, links, description, consent version and request time you supply for editorial or partnership review. They are private, do not subscribe you to the newsletter and do not trigger email. Save the private deletion link to remove your request. Do not submit confidential information.

Sponsor bookings

For a self-service sponsor booking, we store your brand name, pitch, website, booking and payment identifiers, private receipt token and placement dates. The brand, pitch and link appear publicly only after verified payment and during the booked period. PayPal processes payment information. Contact support@distrocool.com for booking or data requests.

Aggregate audience measurements

We count page views and outbound link clicks by day and broad section. The analytics database does not store IP addresses, visitor identifiers, full URLs, search terms, referrers or destination URLs. Site analytics use no cookies or browser storage. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable these site measurements. Aggregates older than 90 days are removed when new events arrive. Authorized maintenance agents can read aggregate reports. Counts can include bots and repeated visits and are not unique visitor counts.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics is off until you choose to allow it. If allowed, Google receives page-view events for the page path and title (without URL search parameters or fragments) and may set first-party measurement cookies. We do not enable Google advertising signals or personalization. Your choice is saved in this browser; you can reject or withdraw it at any time below. Rejecting or withdrawing stops the tag from loading on the next page and removes its measurement cookies from this site. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals prevent optional analytics even if you previously allowed it. See Google’s privacy policy for its processing and retention practices.

Saved items and hosting

Bookmarks are stored only in your browser. Clearing browser storage removes them. No advertising tracker is installed. Our hosting provider processes network requests and may retain operational logs separately. Google Fonts receives font requests.
